DIY Walking Stick – An Infographic Tutorial
At Roamer Post, we love modern day gear. With each new breakthrough product release, we’re in awe with how they manage to keep making products faster, stronger, better, lighter or simply better looking. Sometimes however, a wave of nostalgia hits and we can’t help but feeling the need to kick it old school with some rustic homemade gear from yesteryear.
New to hiking with a stick or poles? Well, you’re in for a treat! Both a stick and trekking poles help give your back and legs a much needed break and aid you in maintaining a higher pace and speed. However, no matter how many amazing great trekking poles there are available on the market today, I’m sure we all feel the need to humor our inner pilgrim, nomad or Gandalf from time to time with a good ol’ fashioned homemade, quality hardwood hiking staff. That’s why we’ve created this tutorial to making your very own DIY Walking Stick. So you can carve, tie and knot your way to a hiking aid that any traditional hiker would approve of. Let’s get started!
